A Standards Recognized Entity (SRE) is a third-party entity, recognized by the Department of Labor as qualified to recognize apprenticeship programs as Industry-Recognized Apprenticeship Program (IRAP).


 

What is an IRAP?

An Industry-Recognized Apprenticeship Program (IRAP) is a high-quality apprenticeship program recognized as such by a SRE that will provide individuals with opportunities to obtain workplace-relevant knowledge and progressively advancing skills resulting in an industry-recognized credential.

WHAT ARE MY RIGHTS AS AN APPRENTICE OR APPLICANT? HOW DO I FILE A COMPLAINT?

Complaints may be filed by an apprentice, a prospective apprentice, the apprentice’s authorized representative, a personnel certification body, or an employer, with the SRE against an IRAP the complaint is associated with. All complaints must be submitted in writing within 180 days from the knowledge of the circumstances giving rise to the complaint and include the specific matter(s) complained of, together with the relevant facts and circumstances.
